Pago Pago, AMERICAN SAMOA — The 35-year old woman accused of trying to deliver a package containing methamphetamine into the Territorial Correctional Facility (TCF) waived her right to a preliminary examination (PX) and her case is now bound over to the High Court for arraignment.

Ieniseni Mata’utia’s PX was scheduled in District Court last week, however, when her case was called, her attorney, Assistant Public Defender, Ryan Anderson informed Judge Fiti Sunia that his client wished to waived her right to a PX, and agreed to bind her case over to the High Court for arraignment.

Mata’utia, who is still in jail unable to post her $10,000 surety bond entered not guilty pleas to all the charges against her. She’s being charged with unlawful possession of methamphetamine with the intent to distribute, and unlawful possession of methamphetamine; both class D felonies.

Her first pretrial conference is scheduled for Nov. 16, 2018.
