American Samoa receives $2.3 Million Pacific Basin Health Grant

Washington, D.C. — Friday, Congresswoman Aumua Amata welcomed a discretionary grant through the Pacific Basin program for the American Samoa Department of Health.

The health services grant entitles Health Centers to a total of $2,343,073 from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) and the Health Resources Services Administration (HRSA).

“A special thanks to Dr. Anaise Uso for the efforts on this project and application, and congratulations to Director Motusa Nua,” said Aumua Amata. “Federal funds are important in many areas, but especially our health services.”

Congresswoman Amata appreciates HHS Secretary Alex Azar, and HRSA Administrator Thomas Engels.
