Demelio Ricky Tua of Pago Pago and Fagasa (standing at the podium) was one of more than two dozen Stallions from Kanana Fou High School who were recognized and honored last week during the school’s first pinning ceremony for the Junior Reserve Officers Training Corps (JROTC) program for school year 2014-2015.

The ceremony was held in the Kanana Fou High School gymnasium in the presence of proud parents, friends, supporters, all students enrolled in the JROTC program, as well as KFHS administrators and faculty members.

The majority of those who were pinned were senior class members, including a few juniors who have proven that they deserve the honor. The higher ranking junior officers are now charged with looking after the ‘newbies’ or those who are new to the program, showing them the ropes and familiarizing them with what is expected of them.

Demelio, who has attained the rank of Captain, is the son of Lupefaalele Faima and Blanche Tua.
