GHC Reid ASHSSA JV Action: Leone Lions send Vikings packing 44 - 0
After the second week of ASHSAA Junior Varsity Football competition, the reigning champions have managed to slay two of the top contenders. Last week, they continued to show the Tafuna Warriors that Lions football will remain on top, and this past Thursday, the Lions sent the Vikings back to the East side – scoreless.

Samoa News has now witnessed all competing JV teams perform on the field and as we enter into week no.2 – Leone is looking unbeatable, even as they await their match up with the only team in the division that hasn’t played them yet in the first round — the Samoana Sharks. The Vikings beat the Sharks in week 1 by a huge margin, and previously, the Vikings weren’t fit to hang with the Lions, do you really think the Sharks will stand a chance? But as sports fans know, on any given day, anything can happen.
During their match up on Thursday at the Veterans Memorial Stadium, Leone didn’t hesitate to score early in the match, as that is their MOU, to get on top first, and then play the rest comfortably in the lead, always working that score up. Fagaitua’s defensive unit tried their best to hold the Lions back, but former AYFS MVP Masan Tuileta was too on-top-of-it for the Vikings to bring down.
Tuileta and Luteru Ah Loe continued to punish the Vikings defense with brutal running attacks, as Juliano Falaniko and the Lions defense kept the Vikings from the end zone throughout the whole match, sending Fagaitua packing frustrated and scoreless, 44 - 0.
