Extra flights for inter-Samoa routes

Polynesian Airlines and Inter Island Air are having to increase flights on the inter Samoa route to meet the demand for seats for Apia bound flights before Christmas.

Polynesian has had to put on 16 flights for one day which is more than double their normal flight schedule.

And it’s flying two flights on Christmas morning to accommodate passengers.

The local manager Tuailemafua Toe Loia says most of the travelers are individuals who are spending Christmas in Samoa.

Inter Island Air, which is using a single 228 Dornier for flights to Apia and Manu’a is also reporting full flights all of this week.

An airline spokesperson says they have stopped accepting reservations for pre Christmas Day flights because of long stand bye lists.
