Vikings open Girls Futsal season with 6-2 win

Faga’itua and South Pacific Academy Dolphins opened the ASHSAA Girls Futsal season with the Vikings winning 6-2 on Saturday, March 31, 2012 at Samoana High School.

In the only other game scheduled the Samoana Sharks won by forfeit over the no-show Tafuna Warriors.

ASHSAA canceled all games last week because of Easter. Games will resume today, Monday.

It was a very close first half with the Vikings up by only one, 3-2. In the second half Faga’itua, fielding many experienced players that helped guide the Vikings to the ASHSAA Girls 11-a-side runners-up spot, finally came alive to put match away 6-2.

Nikki Tolmie scored twice for South Pacific Academy while Josephine Mata’u also scored 10 for the Vikings.

Leone is the defending champion of the sport.
