Pago Pago, AMERICAN SAMOA — Port Administration American Samoa (PAAS), in partnership with the Department of Commerce, is pleased to announce continued progress on construction of the new Ofu Wharf Terminal Building in the Manu‘a Islands.

It is funded through the Community Development Block Grant program administered by the Department of Commerce, the project represents a significant investment in the territory’s inter-island transportation network, maritime operations, public safety, and community connectivity.

Constructed by Paramount Builders, Inc., the new terminal is designed to better serve residents and visitors traveling between the islands. The single-story facility will feature a spacious open-air waiting area with outdoor seating, public restrooms, dedicated office space, and a secure stockroom for equipment storage. The terminal will also meet Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) standards through accessible entrances, safety railings, and a paved pedestrian pathway connecting the terminal building to the main wharf.

Following the successful completion of site preparation and foundation work earlier this year, construction crews have continued to make steady progress despite the logistical and transportation challenges associated with building in a remote island location. Structural framing and interior work are advancing on schedule, and under the current construction timeline, the project remains on track for completion and handover the latter part of 2027.
