The Samoa government owned MV Lady Naomi has three trips to and from Pago Pago for the rest of the year, as many local residents have already made plans to visit family in Samoa for the holiday season.

Polynesian Shipping, local agent for the Lady Naomi, says the last three trips for the vessel in December are: Tuesday, Dec. 20; Thursday Dec. 22; and Thursday Dec. 29. This week’s sail was on Tuesday, Dec. 13.

Reports out of the Tafuna Airport say inter Samoa flights — operated by Polynesian Airlines and Talofa Airways — are expected to be fully booked starting this weekend heading into next week Friday (which is Christmas Eve in Samoa).

Meanwhile, the Office of the Consulate-General of Samoa in Fagatogo advised the public that the office would be closed Friday, Dec. 23 until Wednesday, Jan. 4, 2017 for the holidays.

Intending travelers to Samoa requiring entry permits are being urged to obtain their permits before the office closes for the Christmas and New Year holidays.

This is the same case for individuals requiring Samoa passports, to do so before the office closes for the holidays.
