Expanding Expertise: LBJ Tropical Medical Center adds eight Thai nurses

Pago Pago, AMERICAN SAMOA — The LBJ Tropical Medical Center, yesterday, proudly announced the addition of eight highly skilled nurses from Thailand to their healthcare team, continuing their efforts to expand the “wealth of expertise and knowledge” available at the facility to “maintain a full-service hospital”.

According to the media release, the nurses have a a combined experience spanning between 4 to 20 years.

The facility’s plan is that each of these dedicated professionals will be assigned to different crucial areas within the medical center, ensuring that patients receive the highest quality of care across various departments, which include Operating Room (OR), Medical/Surgical, Dialysis, Pediatrics, Labor and Delivery, and Emergency Room (ER).

"We are thrilled to welcome these talented nurses from Thailand to the LBJ Tropical Medical Center family," said Dr. Malouamaua Tuiolosega, Chairman of the LBJ Board of Directors. "Their extensive experience and diverse skill sets will undoubtedly enhance the level of care we provide to our patients.”

Chairman Tuiolosega and the Board of Directors have emphasized the importance of filling up vacant nurse positions to maintain a full-service hospital. “The addition of these skilled nurses is a significant step towards ensuring that we can continue to deliver comprehensive healthcare services to our community.

It continues, “The decision to recruit nurses from Thailand was made with a commitment to diversifying our workforce and enriching the cultural exchange within our medical community.
