Pago Pago, AMERICAN SAMOA — On March 17, 2024, the Fagatogo Police Station (FPS) received a call from a male individual to report a man who was allegedly causing a disturbance at their residence in Alofau.
Fiso Mulifao was arrested and later charged with:
Count 1: Public Peace Disturbance — a class B misdemeanor punishable by imprisonment for up to six (6) months, a fine of $500, or both.
The defendant’s bail was set at $500.
According to the affidavit, on March 17, at around 12:35 pm, the FPS received a call from a male to report that Fiso Mulifao (later identified as the suspect) was making loud noises at their house in Alofau.
Police officers proceeded to check out the alleged claim as reported, and upon arrival at the scene, they observed the caller/ reporter standing by the road in front of his house waving them down. The officers met with the man who later identified himself as the caller/ reporter and he informed the officers regarding the incident.
The reporter identified himself as Allen Mayer and he stated that on March 16, 2024 around 11:00 pm the suspect was acting disorderly in front of his house by making loud noises.
Mayer stated that his older son came outside the house and told the suspect to go to sleep because he was drunk. However, the suspect refused to listen.
The reporter also stated that the suspect told his son’s wife that he wanted to have sexual intercourse with her. The reporter’s son chased Mulifao away and that’s when he fled the scene.
Mayer said however that the suspect was making noises again in the morning in front of their house. He explained that the suspect was staying with other people that the reporter brought from Samoa for the cricket team in his other house.
The suspect was later processed and transported to Tafuna Correctional Facility (TCF) to await the next sitting of the District Court on March 18, 2024.
The defendant is identified as a 30 year-old Samoa citizen.
HENRY SITANE
On March 16, 2024, a businessman contacted the Tafuna Police Station (TPS) to report a male individual allegedly threatened to assault his security guard who was on duty at TJ’s gym.
Henry Sitane was apprehended and later charged with following charges:
Count 1: Public Peace Disturbance — a class B misdemeanor punishable for up to six (6) months, a fine of $500, or both; and,
Count 2: Underage Consumption of Alcoholic Beverages — a class B misdemeanor punishable up to six (6) months, a fine of $500, or both.
The defendant’s bail was set at $500.
According to the affidavit, on March 16, at about 7:45 pm, a business owner called TPS and reported a male individual who threatened to assault his security guard who was on duty at TJ’s gym.
Police officers on patrol responded to the call immediately.
Upon arrival at the scene at about 7:50 pm, officers met up with the business owner and he pointed out to where his security guard was. Officers approached the security guard (victim) where he briefed officers on what had happened.
According to the victim’s verbal statement, a guy named Enele (later identified as Henry Sitane) came to his workplace while intoxicated and picked a fight with him. The victim stated that he asked the defendant “what did I do?” That’s when the defendant stated that he was going to stab him with a knife. The victim stated because of his safety, he then informed his boss regarding the said matter.
The owner of the gym stated that this guy (defendant) usually works for him and he lives near the TSM store in Tafuna.
While patrolling near the TSM store, a bystander informed police officers that the guy they were looking for was heading back to the TJ’s gym with rocks. One of the officers exited the police unit and walked to the other side of the highway where he observed an unknown male swaying side by side near the containers next to the gym.
Police officers approached the defendant and asked for his name and he replied it was “Enele”. They asked how old he was and the defendant stated he was “20 years-old”.
During the defendant’s encounter with the officers, the police detected a strong odor of alcohol emitting from the defendant’s breath.
The suspect was apprehended and placed inside the police unit and was transported to the TPS for booking process.
The defendant was booked and confined at the TCF to await the next sitting of the District Court.
The defendant is identified as a 20-year-old citizen of Samoa.
