Department of Marine and Wildlife Resources (DMWR) and Coral Reef Advisory Group (CRAG) officially accepting applications for the Marine & Fisheries Science Scholarship.

Here are the updated details for the Fall 2026 semester:

6,000 of financial assistance will be awarded for the academic year. Two scholars will be selected and recipient selection will be based on: GPA, experience, workforce interest, initiative, and letters of recommendation.

NEPA 101 WORKSHOP

The Capital Improvement Projects (CIP) Program of the Office of the Governor is pleased to announce a National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) 101 Workshop hosted by the Office of Insular Affairs (OIA) and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE). 

Date: Tuesday, August 18, 2026 
Time: 2:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. 
Location: DYWA Tafuna 

This workshop is open to all current and prospective applicants interested in pursuing grant funding through the U.S. Department of the Interior, Office of Insular Affairs. 

The session will provide valuable information on the federal grant process, with a primary focus on the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) requirements that are essential for OIA-funded infrastructure and capital improvement projects. 

The OIA and USACE representatives will present an overview of the NEPA process and discuss key topics, including: • Project timelines and environmental review requirements 

• Cumulative impacts and environmental considerations 
• Authorization to Proceed (ATP) requirements 
• The USACE regulatory permitting process

AMERICAN SAMOA VOLLEYBALL ASSOCIATION

The American Samoa Women’s National Volleyball Team home the brought home the SILVER MEDAL from the 2026 Oceania Zonal Volleyball Championships in Guam!

From battling Australia in a five-set opener, to victories over Wallis & Futuna, New Caledonia, and Guam, our women showed the Pacific what American Samoa volleyball is made of — heart, strength, discipline, resilience, and PRIDE!

And the journey continues! Our Women’s National Team is now ranked #74 IN THE WORLD by FIVB! What an accomplishment for our small island and a powerful reminder that we may be small in size, but we are mighty in spirit!

The American Samoa Volleyball Association salutes the  players, coaches, staff, families, supporters, sponsors, and everyone who stood behind Team ASA — FA’AFETAI TELE LAVA!

BACK TO SCHOOL IMMUNIZATION OUTREACH 2026

The American Samoa Department of Health – Immunization Program is helping students get ready for the new school year by providing an opportunity to update required school immunizations before new school year begins.

Parents and guardians are encouraged to bring their children in to review their immunization records and receive any needed vaccines to meet school requirements.

Locations: Utulei Su'igaula and Front of Tropical Pizza (Tafuna)
