Washington, D.C. — On Monday, Congresswoman Uifa’atali Amata honored American Samoa’s police and highlighting National Police Week (May 9-15):

“A heartfelt thank you to all of our law enforcement officers during this National Police Week. We all look to our professional police and law enforcement personnel to respond in any time of crisis.

“In 2019, I cosponsored legislation that honored officers with the National Law Enforcement Museum and Memorial Commemorative Coin, a special gold coin, silver dollar, and half dollar created by the U.S. Mint. Our officers deserve our support, the best possible equipment, and quality training opportunities.

“We deeply appreciate them for their willingness to take on potentially dangerous duties, and rush to respond whenever there is a need. Locally and throughout the nation, God bless our police, law enforcement and peace officers in their daily duties and efforts to be ready.”
