Pago Pago, AMERICAN SAMOA — Two men have been charged in connection with a drug raid at a family home in Ili’ili, where police discovered drugs, money, drug paraphernalia, and firearms.

Sonny Kelemete, who is also known as Moosky, has been charged with possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute, two counts of possession of a controlled substance, and two counts of unlawful possession of a firearm.

Leni Vaivao faces one count of possession of a controlled substance.

Both individuals are currently being held without bail.

Court filings indicate that on November 6, 2025, police executed a search warrant at the residence of Sonny Kelemete in Ili’ili.

During the search, police found two firearms in Kelemete’s bedroom: an SKS 7.62 x 39 mm caliber rifle and a .22 caliber rifle. Both firearms are prohibited from possession without a license issued by the Commissioner of Public Safety.

In addition to the firearms, police discovered a crystalline powdery substance suspected to be methamphetamine. The substance was tested using the Methamphetamine Reagent System field test kit, which yielded a positive result for methamphetamine.

Along with the firearms and suspected methamphetamine, police also found drug paraphernalia, including digital scales and multiple unused packaging materials, such as cut-up drinking straws and dozens of small plastic bags commonly referred to as "simoi."

During the execution of the search warrant, police also recovered approximately $4,000 in cash, primarily in small-denomination bills. It is alleged that Kelemete is currently unemployed.

During the search, police also discovered approximately $500 in cash in his possession, along with more crystalline powdery substance that tested positive for methamphetamine using the Methamphetamine Reagent System field test kit.

Police also arrested Vaivao, who was allegedly in possession of a glass pipe and small bags containing a crystalline powdery substance. The suspected controlled substance found on Vaivao's person was tested using the Methamphetamine Reagent System field test kit, which yielded a positive result.
