Pago Pago, AMERICAN SAMOA — At last Friday’s cabinet meeting, LBJ Medical Center Faumuina John Faumuina reported that wards at the hospital are full: Pediatric, Medical, and Surgical. And there are also many mothers in the Maternity ward.
Faumuina explained that an issue currently faced by the hospital is the low supply of IV tubing and IV pumps. But, according to him, there are enough supplies in stock until the cargo flight arrives this Friday.
Another issue faced by the hospital has to do with the beds. Faumuina said some of them are not up to par, or falling apart, and need to be replaced. He added that beds from the Maternity ward are being transferred to other wards, where there is demand.
