Pago Pago, AMERICAN SAMOA — The new executive director for the Department of Health (DOH) Community Health Clinics (CHC) in Tutuila and Manu’a is Kenneth Kuaea, formerly the deputy director of the Dept. of Human Resources (DHR).

Kuaea’s selection was announced through a DOH media release.

The delay in Kuaea assuming his new role — he signed a contract back in December 2018 — was because there were other areas in government that he was being considered for, as well as other matters with DHR.

Following months of meetings and discussions, Kuaea’s contract was finalized last week.

Kuaea is the son of Frank and Mafa Kuaea. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in psychology from UC Berkeley; a Master of Public Administration degree from Brigham Young University (BYU) Marriott School of Business; and a Juris Doctor also from BYU.

He is also a bishop for The Church of Jesus Christ.
