Fiji medical charter approved — registration deadline is TODAY

Pago Pago, AMERICAN SAMOA — ASG has  approved a special round-trip charter from Nadi, Fiji, to bring medical personnel for the LBJ hospital and Department of Health.  The flight is also available to members of the general public wishing to travel from and to Fiji.

Those wanting to travel from and to Fiji may contact the Medicaid office to confirm a seat and must register on TALOFAPASS to be approved for inbound travel.

The charter flight is confirmed to depart Fiji on Thursday, December 16, 2021, arriving in Pago Pago, Am. Samoa on December 15, 2021. Inbound Fiji travelers must provide a 72 hour negative COVID test and meet other AS DOH requirements. 

Travelers coming in from Fiji must: 

•           Register on TalofaPass by Dec. 8.

•           Upload all required travel and health documents

•           Submit a 72-hr NEGATIVE PCR COVID test

•           Completed Health Clearance form from the AS DOH 

•           COVID-19 Vaccination card 

For residents in American Samoa wanting to travel to Fiji on the return charter, please contact the Medicaid office at 699-4777 for seat reservations and payment of the cost share. 

Meanwhile, Health authorities in Fiji remain confident that cases of the Omicron variant of Covid-19 have been contained in managed isolation.

Two people returned to Fiji from Nigeria last month and tested positive Omicron in border quarantine.
