Samoa shooting suspect surrenders to police
Pago Pago, AMERICAN SAMOA — The man wanted by police in connection with a shooting incident in Samoa last month surrendered on Tuesday evening and is now in police custody.
This was confirmed by the Police Commissioner, Auapa'au Logoitino Filipo in response to queries.
Auapa'au confirmed that he has been charged for causing injuries and assault with the possibility of additional charges. He said police continue their investigation in the matter.
Furthermore, it has been confirmed that police apprehended five additional individuals during their search for Toese Tu'uaga, from the village of Vaimoso.
They were arrested in connection to the possession of illicit drugs.
One was released on bail and is scheduled for a court mention on June 18, 2024.
The other four have been remanded in custody until May 27, for mention while Tuuaga will remain in custody until May 28, for his first appearance in court.
