Pago Pago, AMERICAN SAMOA — The tax refund distribution that was originally scheduled for release yesterday, Thursday, July 30, 2026, was postponed due to unexpected delays in receiving reimbursement funds from the U.S. Treasury. In a previous announcement made last week, the Department of Treasury indicated that the refunds would be issued as planned, generating hope among taxpayers awaiting their payments. 

However, a subsequent notification has regrettably informed the public that the scheduled distribution has now been postponed, creating additional concerns for many individuals and families relying on these funds. 

The Department has issued a formal public apology for the inconvenience this delay may cause to taxpayers. They clarified that while the processing of tax refunds has been completed, the actual release of payments hinges on the arrival of the necessary reimbursement funds from the U.S. Treasury. 

The Department assures the public that as soon as these funds are received, they will promptly announce a new official release date for the tax refunds, keeping transparency at the forefront of their communication.
