According to the affidavit, on February 10, 2024 at about 8pm, Sone Wilson was causing a peace disturbance in front of the Wilson family’s residence in Puapua.

An investigation revealed that the suspect forced himself into the residence, and his stepfather locked the door from inside. It was also revealed that the suspect threatened to kill his stepfather when he saw him again and pulled down a wire connected to one of the utility poles that belonged to ASTCA in front of the house.

When police arrived at the scene, they observed the suspect walking towards the house. The suspect was stopped by police officers, apprehended and placed in the police unit to be transported to the Tafuna Police Substation (TPS) for further investigation.

One of the officers met up with the stepfather, who introduced himself as the reporter and victim. According to the victim, he and his wife had chased away the suspect from their house for weeks now.

However, the victim stated that the defendant came to the house that night and started banging on the front door and telling them to open the door. The victim then went and stood in front of the door so the suspect wouldn't bash it in. He (victim) explained that as he was standing in front of the door the suspect was calling him names and kept threatening to kill him. Moreover, the victim stated “they saw the suspect was pulling down the landline wire from one of the utility poles in front of their house and that is when he contacted the police station for assistance.”

The affidavit also stated that one of the officers also interviewed the victim’s wife where she verbally stated that the suspect challenged her husband to a fight then threatened to kill him. She explained that it has been weeks since they chased him away from their house and they were shocked when he came back that night causing a scene.

Upon arrival at the TPS, the suspect was Mirandized and agreed to make a statement.

The suspect verbally stated that he went home to get the rest of his clothes but his stepfather chased him away.

He then told his stepfather that he needed to stop controlling everything in their family because he is only married into the family.

The suspect also explained that he wanted to go to see his grandmother, but his stepfather is stopping him.

After the suspect’s interview, he was booked and transported to the Tafuna Correctional Facility.
