According to the court affidavit, on Oct 2nd, EMS reported a stabbing incident in which the victim was being transported to LBJ Hospital for medical treatment.

Police officers responded to the call, and upon arrival, the suspect was observed walking toward the responding units from the back of the residence. The officers approached the suspect and conducted a pat-down before apprehending her.

A field interview was conducted at the scene with the suspect’s younger brother, who was at the residence along with the suspect’s children.

The younger brother directed the officers to the location of the weapon. A serrated knife was recovered from the back of the residence, the same area where the suspect had been observed upon arrival. He also claimed that their parents had made it clear that the suspect was not allowed to enter or remain in the house.

The suspect was transported to the TPS for further investigation, and upon arrival at the station, she was Mirandized. The suspect acknowledged that she understood her rights and voluntarily provided a statement.

According to the suspect, she was in the shower when her brother (victim) began calling her names and chasing her out of the house. She stated that her brother struck her and that’s when she grabbed a knife placed near the shampoo and soap and stabbed him twice.

The suspect continued that “she does not recall the exact areas where the stabbing occurred”. After she stabbed the victim, he left, and she went to the back of the house, where she was allegedly hit on the head with “a rachis (a part of a coconut leaf”. The victim claimed that this was the last thing she remembered about the incident.

The suspect was booked and transported to the Tafuna Correctional Facility.

After the booking process, authorities proceeded to the LBJ Hospital to follow up with the victim. Upon arrival at the hospital, medical staff advised that a doctor had not yet seen the victim, and the officers proceeded to obtain statements from both the victim and his mother.

According to the victim’s mother, she and her husband had previously made it clear to the suspect that she was not allowed at their house. She stated that she personally chased the suspect out of their home for the safety of her children and grandchildren. The mother claimed that they suspected the suspect to be affiliated with drugs.

The victim, in his interview, stated that at the time of the incident, he was alone with the suspect at home. He claimed that the suspect entered the house, and he immediately instructed her to leave, reminding the suspect that their parents had already forbidden her from being there. The suspect ignored him and proceeded to the shower. The victim stated that he heard the suspect say, “Oh! It’s just us at the house now.”

He continued to ask the suspect to leave, but she refused to comply, adding that he hit the suspect in an effort to get her to leave the house, and a physical altercation ensued.

While attempting to hold the suspect down, the victim noticed blood dripping from his neck, but he thought it was just a scratch. It was only when he observed the knife in the suspect’s possession that he realized that he had been stabbed.

He then fled the residence and contacted the police for assistance.

Minutes later, his mother arrived home and saw him sitting on a chair outside the house, covered in blood. She immediately transported him to the hospital, meeting up with the ambulance on their way. The ambulance took him to the hospital for emergency treatment.

The defendant is identified as a 26-year-old citizen of Samoa.
