Pago Pago, AMERICAN SAMOA — On February 27, 2026, a victim of a domestic dispute contacted the Tafuna Police Substation (TPS) and reported that Danna Feleti was allegedly causing a disturbance in their home.

She was later arrested and charged with:

Count 1: Private Peace Disturbance (DV), a class C misdemeanor punishable by imprisonment for up to fifteen days, a fine not to exceed $300, or both imprisonment and fine; and,

Count 2: Assault in the Third Degree (DV), a class C misdemeanor punishable by imprisonment for up to fifteen days, a fine not to exceed $300, or both.

The defendant was held without bail.

According to the court affidavit, the incident was reported at approximately 4:33 p.m., when a concerned family member contacted the TPS requesting police assistance.

The caller reported that Feleti was yelling profanities towards an elderly man in their household, prompting concern for the safety of those inside the residence.

Police officers responded to the call and made initial contact with the reporting party, who appeared visibly distressed and immediately began explaining the situation.

The officers then proceeded to separate individuals at the scene and conduct interviews to establish the sequence of events.

The investigation revealed that Ms. Feleti resides at the home with her boyfriend and his family, and what began as a verbal disagreement between Feleti and her boyfriend quickly escalated into a larger family dispute involving other members of the household.

The reporting party told officers that she overheard Feleti raising her voice and mentioning her father’s name during the argument. Concerned about the situation, she asked her father to go and speak with Feleti and her boyfriend in an effort to calm the situation and prevent it from escalating further.

However, when the father approached the couple to intervene, Feleti became confrontational. She allegedly raised her voice and began directing profanities at him. Despite the father’s attempts to address the situation calmly, Feleti continued yelling and told him that the matter did not concern him.

The reporting party stated that she stepped in to defend her father and attempted to de-escalate the situation by asking Feleti to show respect. However, this only intensified the confrontation.

Moreover, Feleti allegedly grabbed a trophy during the argument and threw it at the reporter. The object reportedly came dangerously close to striking her head but ultimately missed and landed nearby. This action apparently caused fear and heightened tension among those present.

In addition, the reporter told officers that Feleti picked up a jug of water and approached her in what appeared to be another attempt to throw an object. Fearing for her safety, she retreated from the area and exited the house before contacting police.

Officers interviewed the elderly man (victim #1), who provided both verbal and written statements. He confirmed that he had been informed of the argument by his daughter (victim #2) and that he approached the couple to intervene. And, when he attempted to calmly address the situation, he alleged Feleti responded with hostility.

He also mentioned that Feleti made threatening remarks during the confrontation and continued to yell profanities at him. Despite his efforts to de-escalate the situation, the suspect allegedly refused to calm down and instead escalated her behavior.

Victim #1 also confirmed witnessing Feleti throw a trophy at his daughter during the altercation.

Police noted that both statements provided by the witnesses were consistent and indicated a pattern of aggressive and escalating behavior on the part of the suspect.

The affidavit further revealed that this was not the first incident involving Feleti at the residence. Family members reported that there have been ongoing issues and repeated disturbances involving her behavior. Tensions within the household have been building over time due to prior incidents, and both victims expressed a desire for Feleti to leave the residence.

Officers located Feleti at the scene and took her into custody. The suspect did not resist arrest and was transported to the TPS for further processing.

Upon arrival at the station, Feleti was advised of her constitutional rights in the Samoan language where she acknowledged understanding, but declined to provide a statement or answer any questions regarding the incident.

Following the booking process, Feleti was transported to the Tafuna Correctional Facility, where she was confined pending the next sitting of the District Court.

The defendant is identified as a 40-year-old citizen of Samoa.

The affidavit was filed in the District Court on March 4, 2026.
