Pago Pago, AMERICAN SAMOA — On August 31, 2025, the Leone Police Station (LPS) received a call from a store cashier in Puapua requesting assistance after an alleged robbery.

Authorities were not able to locate the suspect, but he was later charged with Count 1: Stealing, a class A misdemeanor punishable by imprisonment for up to one year, a fine of $1,000, or both imprisonment and fine.

The defendant’s bail was set at $1,000.

Court records stated that on Aug 31st, at around 9:38 a.m., Trevor Tasi (later identified as the suspect) walked into a store in Puapua and stole three packages of saimin and one 12-oz can of corned beef.

Police officers responded to the call and, upon arrival, met up with the store cashier, who had contacted the LPS regarding the incident. According to the cashier, the unknown suspect entered the store, pretended to shop by placing the stolen items on the counter, and then took off with the items without paying.

The cashier reviewed the store camera and highlighted the suspect’s movements for police.

Authorities identified the suspect as Trevor Tasi, as he is known in the area for his involvement in multiple robbery and theft incidents at local stores.

After the cashier’s interview, the officers left to locate the suspect. Upon arrival at the suspect’s residence, the officers called him out but received no response. The officers asked the neighbors if they had seen the suspect, and they stated that no one had seen him in the morning. The officers continued to canvas the area, but their efforts were unsuccessful.

The defendant is identified as a 27-year-old U.S national.
