ASVB to host discussion on tourism — planning a sustainable future, together

Pago Pago, AMERICAN SAMOA — The Board of American Samoa Visitors Bureau will host a presentation by Carmel Beattie — an Oceania Tourism Consultant —  for public information and discussion a report on the current status and future potential of Tourism in our Territory.

American Samoa’s success as a Tourism Destination is dependent on our teamwork as an industry, a Government and a community. Please join with us to gain an insight into our current situation and learn what it will take to achieve a sustainable Tourism future. Be part of the discussion and the solution.

It will be held Wednesday January 30th from 5:30pm at Sadie’s by the Sea - Goat Island Cafe Conference Room.

Carmel Beattie has a a long career focused on the development and marketing of a range of wonderful destinations including the States of Queensland and New South Wales in Australia and the Sydney Opera House.

In recent years, as CEO of Cook Islands Tourism, she worked closely with the Tagata Kuki Airani (People of the Cook Islands) to develop a range of strategies to kickstart the Cook’s enviable success as a Tourism destination.
