The 4th Grade students of Samoa Baptist Academy were seen on Friday, December 19, singing Christmas carols and holiday hymns for the school’s annual Christmas program, entitiled “Jesus is the Reason for the Season.” Under the direction of their teacher, Mrs. Tiaitupe Savea, the 4th grade class sang a spirited version of “Sing and Shout”.

Principal Lucy Tafao gave welcoming remarks, and served as Master of Ceremonies for the program, which was held on the school campus before a standing-room-only crowd.

Scripture readings of Isaiah 9:6 were given in English, Samoan, Tagalog and Korean- “For unto us a Child is born,Unto us a Son is given; And the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.”

Each class gave a very special performance, with the 8th Grade students offering the closing number, “Joy to the World”. During the program, a presentation of $3,000 was given to the school by Ms. Olivia Reid-Gillette on behalf of the Peter E. Reid Charitable Foundation.
