Pago Pago, AMERICAN SAMOA — The Office of Petroleum Management (OPM) has finalized the Maximum Allowable Price (MAP) effective July 15, 2026 finding that market conditions have continued their downward correction for the second consecutive month, resulting in decreases across all major fuel categories.

According to the OPM, these reductions are driven by declining refined product market prices and easing freight costs. The benefits are passed directly to the people of American Samoa through the MAP methodology.

The most significant movement this cycle is in diesel, which has declined across all classifications:

• Road Diesel: / $0.6518

• ULSD Road: / $0.7867

• B/Gen Diesel: / $0.6518

• ULSD B/Gen: V $0.7867

• CFV Diesel: / $0.6518

• Other/Marine Diesel: V $0.6518

Diesel remains the primary fuel used for power generation in American Samoa, and this continued downward trend provides relief for households and businesses, according to the release.
