Pago Pago, AMERICAN SAMOA — Acting LBJ Hospital CEO Dr. Aitofele James Sunia issued an internal memo at the end of the day Tuesday, Dec. 19, 2023, informing staff that the hospital is resuming normal operations effect immediately.

Samoa News was able to obtain a copy of the memo, which reads:

“RE: Low water pressure supply & water quality at LBJ Medical Center 

 “First of all, I would like to take this opportunity to thank our entire LBJ staff for your patience and understanding as we worked through the recent water pressure and water quality issues.  

 “I would also like to thank our partners, ASPA and Fire Department for your assistance as we worked towards the restoration of our water capacity and quality.  

 “I am pleased to inform our entire LBJ staff that effectively immediately we will be resuming normal operations and requesting that all Chiefs and Directors please reach out to your department and clinic staff to report back to their normal schedules.”
