Pago Pago, AMERICAN SAMOA — Governor Lolo Matalasi Moliga is pleased to announce that Governor David Ige of Hawaii is granting passengers from American Samoa, a COVID-free jurisdiction, a waiver for a full quarantine exemption.

This means that passengers on the Monday medical charter will not need to do a COVID test in American Samoa. Further, passengers on the charter will be exempt from quarantine in Hawaii. However, ALL passengers, by Hawaii law, must register online for the HI Safe Travelers Program and complete a Mandatory State of Hawaii Travel and Health Form. Registration and Form are available at https://travel.hawaii.gov. This registration and form must be completed online as printed forms are not allowed. Failure to register online PRIOR to travel and arrival in Hawaii, will subject the traveler to a $2000 fine upon arrival in the State of Hawaii.

To assist passengers who need help with this registration process, the Medicaid office and staff have reserved the Feleti Barstow Library computer lab, to walk passengers through the registration process and completion of the mandatory health form. Registration assistance will be available starting Thursday, Oct. 22, 10:00AM at the public library in Utulei. All others who can complete the form on their own, must email a screen shot of the “logged-in page” at the end of registration, to the omr@medicaid.as.gov to confirm that they have completed the registration.

Again, FAILURE TO REGISTER PRIOR TO ARRIVAL into Hawaii subjects the traveler to a $2000 fine by the Hawaii State Government.

Governor Lolo stated, “I am very thankful to Governor Ige and his office for their support to help our people travel to Hawaii under these trying times.”
