The closing of ceremony of Samoa's 60 and 61 years of freedom was held on Thursday, June 1, 2023 with a Thanksgiving Service that included a presentation of National Awards and Honors to outstanding individuals of the community. It was held at the Malae o Tiafau in Mulinu’u, Samoa. International guests included Congresswoman Uifa’atali Aumua Amata and an American Samoa contingent led by Gov. Lemanu P. S. Mauga.
