Catalina Salafai Markowitz presented over 500 fresh flower leis a few months after 9/11 happened at an gathering for all FDNY and NYPD widows and orphans in New York City. Leis were shipped by the Hawai’i Tourism Authority. The #4 on the young orphan represented her father's FDNY Engine Company.
