Pago Pago, AMERICAN SAMOA — Police arrested two females from Malaeimi a week ago, on the allegation that they engaged in actions, which disturbed the public peace.

Talava Iereneo and another female who was only identified in the court affidavit as Mitiana made their initial appearance in District Court this past Monday and they both denied the charges against them. They were both charged with a single count of public peace disturbance and were both released on their own recognizance.

On July 20, 2018 around 5:32p.m, the Tafuna Police Station received a phone call from an anonymous caller reporting two females disturbing the peace near the Malaeimi Mart. Four officers responded to the call.

Eye witnesses told police that the two females were throwing stones at a store’s wall while making unreasonable noises by yelling at everyone, and to the police officers who came to get them.

Their pretrial conferences are now scheduled for next month.
