Pago Pago, AMERICAN SAMOA — The Marine Patrol Division of the Department of Search and Rescue, recently completed the installation of two ring buoys in the Manu’a islands.

One of the ring buoys has been placed in Mutia, Fitiuta, while the other has been installed at the harbor in Ta’u.

These installations were carried out under the leadership of Marine Patrol Chief Ina Ulberg. He stressed the critical role of these life-saving ring buoys in emergency rescue scenarios.

"Regrettably, the persistent issue of these life-saving devices being tampered with continues to pose a significant risk in the area," Ulberg lamented.
