Pago Pago, AMERICAN SAMOA — In a memorandum issued yesterday afternoon, Gov. Lemanu Peleti Palepoi Mauga declared tomorrow, Apr. 16th a “Training Holiday”.

All government offices and public schools will be closed and normal activities will be suspended.

“ASG employees are encouraged to attend the Family Day and Farm Fair at Veterans Memorial Stadium” beginning at 10a.m. tomorrow, the governor said.

The governor during last week Thursday’s cabinet meeting, followed by a memo the following day, announced that the 2021 Flag Day would be celebrated on Apr. 16th with the Flag raising ceremony at Malaeoletalu in Fagatogo.

Originally ASG employees were to serve the public that day during the BBQ at Suigaula o le Atuvasa Park in Utulei after the flag raising ceremony.

However, the governor’s office announced Tuesday this week that there would be no BBQ, but instead the public is invited to join the governor and VIPs at the Farm Fair at Veterans Memorial Stadium. Vouchers will be made available to the public from ASG to spend at anyone of many food stalls at the Farm Fair.

At press time, Monday, Apr. 19th remains a government holiday.

The Flag Day at Fagatogo will be broadcast live on KVZK-TV, connect below.
