Pago Pago, AMERICAN SAMOA — Significant law enforcement, fire, emergency, and security services are engaged in an “Active Shooter” training at the local Department of Homeland Security which kicked off Monday, July 8th and ends today, July 10th.

The American Samoa Department of Homeland Security (ASDHS) - TEMCO, issued a special bulletin last Friday, July 5th, regarding the training, “in order to avoid confusion”.

Local residents needing background checks are advised to “not be alarmed” as the active shooter training is ongoing. Background checks are still being conducted on the second floor of the ASDHS building in Ottoville.
