Local veterans stranded in Hawaii remembered on their day
Honolulu, HAWAII — Local veterans currently awaiting American Samoa’s border opening, have reached out to say “THANK YOU” for Wednesday’s feast treat by a Hawai’i VA group.
“Your thoughtfulness to reach out last week to organize a feast for our veterans for Veterans Day is so appreciated with gratitude of love,” Ella Gurr said in an email shared with Samoa News that included photos and general info.
“Our veterans have overwhelmingly expressed their gratitude to you, Judge To'oto'o and George Hunkin for your generosity.” They made it possible for our vets to receive food, expenses, toiletries, and face masks which were delivered to the Veterans staying at the Honolulu Airport Hotel and Fisher Houses
She concluded, “Thank you for all you do! Happy Veterans Day!!”
