![This photo showcases the recent siapo making project called, "Ole Olaga i le Taimi Nei: Living in the NOW" — with the coronavirus pandemic — by local artist Regina Meredith-Fitiao. The photo was one of the images included in Meredith-Fitiao’s paper, “Making Siapo in Leone Today” presented during the 17th Biennial Symposia hosted by the Textile Society of America. As of last week, she had over 200 original siapo face masks, each one is hand made with a cotton backing and elastic bands.
