The owners of Industrial Gases and the Tool Shop will be starting a new business venture in the town area. The former Langkilde gas station is expected to open later this year under new its new owner, Peter Crispin.

The gas station is located right next to the Tool Shop store in Malaloa, and includes a small convenience store. It will open after everything is squared away, including the installation of new above-the-ground tanks.

The gas station was severely damaged during the 2009 earthquake/tsunami and opened briefly after the disaster, and then closed again almost immediately. It has since been out of business. The convenience store was also briefly re-opened, under new ownership, but within two months, it closed its doors and has since stood vacant.
