Pago Pago, AMERICAN SAMOA — Manu’a is still experiencing a partial outage with Broadband being the only available service, the American Samoa TeleCommunications Authority said in an update to the public released Monday night.

“Connection is stable with reduced speeds as reported on our last update. On July 2, our teams completed the wiring of two microwave dishes and began the alignment process for restoring Landline, Mobile and Television services.”

However, according to the press release, weather conditions became an issue on July 3, causing delays for the Engineering teams. Attempts to resume repairs on July 4th had been delayed again due to inclement weather on both islands. Weather permitting, ASTCA plans to resume work today (Tuesday) in Ta’u to complete Dish alignment, install rmware and complete the necessary configurations for restoring all services.

There are no updates on the fiber break at this time.

ASTCA continues to thank the residents of Manu’a and the public for their continued patience during this time. “We will continue to update and inform the community once there are changes to the updates made available. We would also like to thank our partners at ASPA for their support.”
