Pago Pago, AMERICAN SAMOA — To date, no arrests have been made after drug paraphernalia was found in a KVZK- TV vehicle last week.

Director for the Office of Public Information, Aaron Hall said police confirmed that the Vice and Narcotics Division of the Department of Public Safety is investigating drug paraphernalia found in a KVZK- TV vehicle.

“The police were contacted immediately when the paraphernalia were found late Tuesday.

“Police had since seized the contraband, which consisted of empty plastic straws commonly used to pack methamphetamine and conducted a further search of the vehicle. The suspected staff have already undergone drug testing,” confirmed Mr Hall.

He said the Office of Public Information has a zero tolerance policy for drug users employed in this office.

“The Lemanu and Talauega administration have [sic] invested so much funding and resources in efforts to eliminate drugs from the Territory and the Office of Public Information stands by that.

“It goes without saying that our office should be a drug free environment and we will not accept this type of behavior in this office. And we certainly cannot employ anyone that is found to have been tested positive for drugs at the KVZK.TV,” said Director Hall.
