Pago Pago, AMERICAN SAMOA — Hawaiian Airlines is adding a third weekly flight between Honolulu and Pago Pago for the summer months to accommodate the usual busy travel season, as local residents head to the U.S for vacation and holidays, while Samoans and others living in the U.S travel to the territory — also for vacations and to visit family.

Local students heading to colleges and universities in the U.S will also keep summer travel busy.

Hawaiian Airlines currently provides two-weekly flights between Honolulu and Pago Pago on Mondays and Thursdays, and the Honolulu-based carrier announced this week that it will add a third weekly flight from June 07 to Aug. 30.

The flight will operate on Wednesdays and arrives in Pago Pago at night — like the current twice-a-week service . The airline confirmed that reservations and bookings are open for the third weekly flight.

Hawaiian Airlines spokesman confirmed to Samoa News yesterday the extra weekly flight on Wednesdays to accommodate the busy travel summer months.

Hawaiian Airlines over the years has committed to a third weekly flight during the summer months, but the global COVID-19 pandemic, resulting in border closures has prevented extra summer flights for Pago Pago since 2020.

Besides extra flights for Pago Pago, Hawaiian Airlines also announced this week extra summer flights between Honolulu and Austin, Texas; Boston, Massachusetts; and Las Vegas, Nevada.

The airline will also add a fourth daily flight between Honolulu and Los Angeles.

The schedule of the extra flights can be found on (www.hawaiianairlines.com).
