Gov requests House member for Statistical Advisory Council
Pago Pago, AAMERICAN SAMOA — The American Samoa Code Annotated (A.S.C.A) 13.2108 creates the Statistical Advisory Council (SAC) that consists of nineteen members including one member from the House of Representative.
In his letter to the Speaker of the House, Gov. Lemanu Peleti Mauga is requesting Savali Talavou Ale to appoint one faipule as member of the SAC.
Lemanu said that the Council plays an important role in advising the Department of Commerce on the collection, planning and preparation of statistical reports that include economic and demographic information.
“To fulfill the membership requirement of the SAC, we respectfully seek your appointment of one Representative to serve on the Council,” Lemanu said in his Dec. 29, 2021 letter to Savali.
