Pago Pago, AMERICAN SAMOA — A fono representative in American Samoa says methamphetamine use is at crisis levels in the US territory.

The Fofo District faipule, Andra Samoa, says like many on Tutuila her village of Leone is infested with the drug.

Ms Samoa told RNZ News' Dominic Godfrey they don't have the infrastructure or expertise to deal with the problem which everyone is aware of but no-one is really addressing.

She says unlike many challenges they deal with, this one is not natural.
