Pago Pago, AMERICAN SAMOA — Notice on the door to the Food Stamp program — Closed due to Code Red.

It’s unknown at this point how Social Services will be handling the dispersing of its food stamps as there has been no official word or advertisement of how it will be providing services during the “red” close down.

However the following notice was posited on the ASNAP Facebook page:

“Please be informed that we will be issuing ASNAP benefits (food stamps) for the month of March as soon as we receive final approval from the COVID-19 Task Force to implement our distribution plan using all precautionary measures and strict enforcement of existing restrictions to prevent the spread of the coronavirus.

“We will inform all ASNAP participants and the general public through public service announcements on KVZK TV, various radio stations, and on social media, as soon as our mass distribution schedule is ready.

“Thank you for your patience and understanding, “ the message concluded.
