Pago Pago AMERICAN SAMOA — Bluesky continues to deliver on its commitment to invest in empowering the youth of American Samoa. In their bid to help promote technology in the territory, the company donated network equipment valued at over $150,000 to the American Samoa Community College (ASCC) computer science program, for student learning.

During a very informal gathering at the ASCC computer science lab, the Bluesky management and technical team presented a generous donation which included the following: Linksys SFE200P 24 port POE switch; Cisco 2950 24 port switch; Cisco 7606-S; six Dell servers; plus a Dell NF500 SAN server.  As an added bonus, Bluesky will continue to provide support with the setup and maintenance of the equipment for the ASCC computer science lab.

Chairman of  the ASCC computer science program, Ernie Seiuli and IT instructor Jericoh Martinez accepted the donation on behalf of the ASCC. “This will help with training the local youth of American Samoa, to be on par with world class information technology. The equipment will also help us train students to design, develop, and troubleshoot enterprise level networking infrastructure for enhanced local skills and talent in this type of field” said Jericho Martinez.

Seiuli expressed appreciation of the donation and acknowledged Bluesky’s help with providing the signage board for the computer science lab.

Bluesky’s Sherry Tele said, “We are pleased to be able to help ASCC with their computer science program and trust the network equipment will be of good use for the students in developing their computer networking skills. Bluesky takes pride in every opportunity we have to contribute to the on-going development of technology in our territory through our scholarships, on-the-job training, internships, and collaboration with our community partners such as ASCC.”
