Pago Pago, AMERICAN SAMOA — A brief ceremony was held earlier this week at the DOE conference room to award ASG scholarships to several recent ASCC graduates, who are pictured with ASG Scholarship Board chairman Senator Faiivae Godinet; co-chairperson Donna Gurr; and DOE director Dr. Ruth Matagi-Tofiga.

After the presentation of awards, Ane Tofili Matagi and Dr. Lisa Mapu went over the process and procedures involved, with the students and their parents.

According to the list provided by the scholarship board, the following students were awarded 2-year scholarships: Aofagaimanu D. Taafua, accounting, Dixie State University; Faatuputala P. Fiame, political science, University of Hawaii-Hilo; Finiana J. Finau, health science, Portland State University; Inny H.L. Mareko, biology, University of Hawaii; Isalei Afioa’e, accounting, Dixie State University; Karallyn Fitisone, psychology, Southern Utah University; Latoya Mauigoa, political science, University of Hawaii-Hilo; Monique Hollister, engineering, Southern Utah University; Wendy Soaga, biology, Dixie State University.
