"GOVERNOR LOLO REMEMBERS VICTIMS OF THE 9/11 ATTACKS"

The leaders and the people of American Samoa join our nation and our country in remembering all Americans, especially the first responders, and other nationalities who fell victim to the cowardice attack on the United States.

It is only fitting and appropriate, that, on this day, we reaffirm our collective commitment to never succumb to any acts of terrorism and to rekindle our resolve to protect and preserve the fundamental ideals which will continue to make our country the envy of the world.

So today, while we honor the memories of our fallen Americans and pay tribute to the heroism, courage, bravery and the self-sacrificing actions of our first responders, we should all take to our knees, raising our voices in prayer of supplication to our Heavenly Father for, in spite of the pain and suffering continuing to be endured by families of the perished loved ones, God has continued to be the United States and American Samoa’s protector and guardian.

For the people of American Samoa, we should always be mindful of God’s outpouring and deluge of blessings over our people and for us to be sensitive to the plight of others who are perpetually placed in harm’s way because of the sadistic, brutal, barbaric and monstrous ideology being propagated by terroristic fanatics.

While there are inherent blessings because of our geographical isolation from many industrialized countries and the extremely volatile environments of the Middle East and North Korea, American Samoa has young men and women in the Armed Forces of the United States who are consistently being exposed to harm, thus we must continue our prayer vigils to ensure that they will return home safe.

On behalf of Senate President Gaoteote Palaie Tofau, House Speaker Savali Talavou Ale, Chief Justice Lealaialoa Michael Kruse, Lt. Gov. Lemanu Peleti Mauga, cultural leaders, and all the people of American Samoa, I express to all the victims of the 9/11 horrific attack on the United States our expression of sympathy and comfort and to let their families emphatically know that we have and we will never forget the sacrifices that they have made for our Country and all of its democratic principles which have and will continue to make America Great.

It is also our collective prayer beseeching God to continue to bless the leaders of our Country and our Nation with His Holy Spirit so that their decisions will gravitate to our collective and desired vision for a safe and harmonious world. ‘
