Pago Pago, AMERICAN SAMOA — To honor and recognize the Red Cross for their 100 years of service, the Society of Fa’afafine in American Samoa made a $3,000 donation to the organization at the close of the the 39th Annual Miss SOFIAS Beauty Pageant.

Newly crowned Miss SOFIAS Miss Christian Wright Sa’alea, 32, surrounded by members and supporters of the American Samoa Red Cross Chapter presented the blow-up check to Red Cross representatives at the pageant on Saturday night, April 22, 2023.

Red Cross is one of several charities the Society of Fa’afafine in American Samoa supports every year. The 100 year anniversary of Red Cross was celebrated during the 2023 Flag Day celebrations at the Veterans Memorial Stadium last week Monday.
