Pago Pago, AMERICAN SAMOA — In a brief statement yesterday, the American Samoa TeleCommunications Authority explained the partial disruption to its’ LTE mobile service on Aug. 3rd, and that it has been mostly restored.

ASTCA said the partial service disruption affected mobile customers for calls between ASTCA mobile to Landline, ASTCA Mobile to Bluesky mobile and Long Distance.

The partial disruption began around 2a.m. and lasted until around 5:00 PM. Cause of the disruption, said ASTCA, was with a legacy component which affected voice traffic only. And that ASTCA mobile data was not affected during this time.

At the time of the statement, released to the media yesterday morning, ASTCA said its Mobile subscribers may still be experiencing isolated issues with receiving calls to their Mobile phones and “we are working to resolve those that are experiencing this issue.”

An announcement was posted to ASTCA’s Facebook page on Tuesday to inform the community about the partial disruption.
