Four babies born in American Samoa Christmas 2018 — but we can't tell you their names

Pago Pago, AMERICAN SAMOA — There were four Christmas babies for 2018 - three of them girls and one boy, according to the LBJ Medical Center, responding to Samoa News inquiries.

Based on information provided by the hospital’s director of nursing and nursing staff, LBJ’s acting director of Human Resources, Akenese E. Nikolao shared with Samoa News yesterday morning that the first Christmas baby, a girl, was welcomed at 12:45a.m., weighing 8 pounds, 9 ounces.

The second baby girl was born at 8:32a.m. weighing 8 pounds, 8 ounces; followed by another girl at 12:53pm weighing 8 pounds 15 ounces; and then at 4:17pm came the lone male, weighing 7 pounds, 11 ounces.

Because of federal privacy law, under HIPA, the hospital is prohibited from releasing the name of any patient, without their consent.
