Dr Ledua lays rumors to rest, he will apply to be LBJ CEO
Pago Pago, AMERICAN SAMOA — There have been rumors in the community that Acting Chief Executive Officer for the LBJ Medical Center, Dr. Akapusi Ledua will be joining a hospital in Alaska, as he has received a job offer. However, Dr. Ledua has assured through government media (KVZK-TV) that he has turned down the job offer from Alaska, to apply for the CEO position at the LBJ, that has been vacant since 2022.
He also said the other reason would be to continue his service to his people in the Territory of American Samoa for at least the next two years, through his service at the local hospital.
Rumors were rife in the local medical community, due to Dr. Ledua’s contract ending next month; however, his contract was extended recently.
Dr Ledua recently graduated with Honors from Grand Canyon University in Phoenix, Arizona with a Master of Business Administration with emphasis in Health System Management.
As reported by local media, Dr Ledua has set his goal to do more medical administrative executive work, and fewer clinical roles.
He is a member of the American Association of Physician Leaders and the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons and is working towards getting his membership and fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives.
