Women’s Community Action Program to hold “Gardening for Profit” series

Mrs. Brooke Gurr Agriculture Facilitator with the Women’s Community Action Program will be teaching a “Gardening for Profit” course. W-CAP of American Samoa has been awarded a grant by the Walmart Foundation and the Honolulu Walmart (Facility #3478) through the Local Community Contribution/Hunger Outreach Grant Program.

This grant supports “Where There Are No Jobs” micro-business courses offered by W-CAP for unemployed women of all nationalities, races and creeds. Upon completion of the course the women are eligible to apply for micro-loans available from a Bank of Hawaii grant to W-CAP.

W-CAP is offering a new course entitled “Gardening for Profit” to begin on Monday, March 19 through Friday, March 23 in Mesepa. Any unemployed women interested in creating a micro-business through home gardening may call to register for limited openings at 699-1842.
